LAUTECH 15th Convocation Ceremonies Programme of Events
LAUTECH 15th Convocation ceremonies is scheduled to commence from Friday, 21st April, 2023. The institution will also be celebrating its 33 years of academic excellence with a week of diverse religious, academic and cultural events.
Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) wishes to inform the general public and the entire students and staffs of the institution of it 15th Convocation ceremonies. The institution will be hosting a one week celebration commencing from Friday, 21st April, 2023, alo the institution will be celebrating its 33 years of academic excellence and the great height they have achieved within the 33 years of creation. Religious academic and cultural events will be displayed to grace the great occasion.
Opening Ceremonies: Embracing Diversity and Gratitude
The week-long celebration will kick off on Friday, April 21st, with special Muslim prayers at the Institution’s Central Mosque in Ogbomoso between 1:00 pm and 2:00 pm. The Registrar of the University, Dr. Kayode Ogunleye, stated that Christians and well-wishers would then take their turn on Sunday, April 23rd, to gather at the Interdenominational Chapel to express their gratitude for the past year’s achievements and pray for a renewed beginning.
Press Conference and Research Fair
On April 26th, 2023, a press conference will be held to officially announce the various events at the Council Chamber in the Senate Building of the University, between 9:00 am and 10:00 am. Following the press conference, a Research Fair and Exhibition will take place at the Senate Building Foyer between 10:00 am and 4:00 pm. Concurrently, the Alumni Day event will run at the Hall from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm.
Convocation Lecture and Cultural Performances
The Convocation Lecture will be held at the Great Hall, LAUTECH, Ogbomoso, from 10:00 am to noon on Thursday, April 27th, 2023. The afternoon will feature a Convocation play and Cultural performance at the Amphitheatre between 2:00 pm and 3:00 pm, followed by a Cocktail event at 3:00 pm at the same venue.
Investiture and First Degree Awards
On Friday, April 28th, 2023, dignitaries will gather at the Council Chamber in the Senate Building for the Investiture of the Paramount Ruler of Emohua in Rivers State, His Royal Majesty Sir Ohna Sergeant Chidi Awuse, as the sixth Chancellor of the University. Following this, the admission to First Degrees and Award of Prizes will take place at the Great Hall/Amphitheatre starting at 11:00 am.
Higher and Honorary Degree Awards
The week-long program will conclude on Saturday, April 29th, 2023, with the Award of Higher and Honorary degrees taking place at the Great Hall and Amphitheatre from 10:00 am onwards.
