This was written in the Office of the Registrar’s Weekly Bulletin, which came out on Monday in Abuja. JAMB discloses additional guidelines ahead of UTME

NUC Threaten to Sanction Universities that Engage in Irregular Admission

In the new rules, double fingerprints, exemption candidates, and other changes are made. Each of them is explained in more detail below;

Double fingerprint

Candidates must now use at least two fingers to print their registration slips. On the day of the exam, any of the two fingers used would be used for biometric verification before the candidate could enter the exam hall.

On the registration and exam slips, each candidate’s two fingers that can be checked must be written down in order.

Centre prohibition

Oloyede said that no CBT center would be allowed to work with cybercafes and tutorial centers that had been banned. He also said that any CBT center that broke the directive in whole or in part would have its license taken away.

CBT centre accreditation

Without meeting the new requirements, no new Computer-Based Test center would be approved. In order to do this, all new CBT centers will have to use laptop computers as clients. Thin clients and Remote Desktop Protocol will no longer be allowed. No CBT center can put clients in that have less than 2 gigabytes of RAM.

It is now required that the Autobot system be used to accredit CBT centers. There should be three Autobot tests: the pre-accreditation test, the mock-UTME test, and the dummy exam.

Accreditation of biometrics

The registrar also said that before the exercise, the biometrics of all accredited CBT center registration officers would be taken.

He said that this was because, as a proactive agency, the board had to move with the times to stay ahead of cheaters and protect the integrity of the system.

Those Who Qualify

At the place where people signed up, those with bad fingerprints would be put on the exam schedule as “Exemption Candidates.”

Their registration slips would be a different color than those of other candidates and look different.

Such candidates would take their exams in Abuja on the last day of the national exam schedule, and their results would not be made public until they had been carefully looked at.
