FUTA Academic Calendar for 2023/2024 Session
Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA) undergraduate academic caledar for the 2023/2024 academic session has been released. The academic calendar has dates for lectures registration, breaks and examination.
The management of the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA) has announced that it academic calendar for the 2023/2024 academic session for undergraduates has been released. The academic calendar for first semester has 15 weeks, the second semester also has 15 weeks. The calendar will provide the students with all the guide and preparation needed to run the academic session smoothly.
FUTA First Semester Academic Calendar:
- Registration portal opens on Monday, 15th January 2024.
- Jan 28, 2024: Arrival date for all Students (Both Fresh and Returning).
- Lectures commence on Monday, 29th January 2024, with registration continuing.
- Departmental Board of Examiners meets on Monday 5th and Tuesday 6th February 2024 for 2nd Semester, 2022/2023 results.
- Orientation for Fresh Students starts from Monday 5th February to Friday 9th February 2024
- Schools Board of Examiners meets on Thursday 8th and Friday 9th February 2024 for 2nd Semester, 2022/2023 results.
- Late registration starts on Monday 5th February to Sunday 18th February 2024.
- Lectures begin for Fresh Students on Monday 12th February 2024.
- 317th Senate session for 2nd Semester, 2022/2023 results occurs on Wednesday February 28th 2024
- Matriculation Ceremony occurs on Tuesday 12th March 2024.
- Mid-semester break takes place from Thursday, 14th to Saturday, 16th March 2024.
- Lectures resume on Monday, 18th March 2024.
- Easter Break starts from Friday March 29th to Monday April 1st 2024.
- Id-el-Fitr break falls on Wednesday 10th – Thursday 11th April 2024.
- Lectures end on Friday, 26th April 2024.
- A lecture-free week occurs from Monday, 29th to Friday, 3rd May 2024.

- Students are expected to arrive on Sunday, 16th June 2024.
- Lectures and registration continue from Monday, 17th June 2024.
- Normal Registration Closes on Saturday 29th June 2024
- Lectures resume on Monday 24th June 2024.
- Departmental Board of Examiners meets on Monday 8th and Tuesday 9th July 2024 for 1st Semester, 2023/2024 results.
- Schools Board of Examiners meets Thursday 11th and Friday 12th July 2024 for 1st Semester, 2023/2024 results.
- Late Registration takes place from Monday 1st July to Friday 12th July 2024.
- 323rd Senate session for 1st Semester, 2023/2024 results, takes place on Wednesday July 31st 2024.
- Mid-semester break is from Thursday, 1st to Saturday, 3rd August 2024.

The first semester comprises 15 weeks, including 2 weeks for registration, 1 week lecture-free, and 3 weeks of examinations. The second semester also spans 15 weeks, with 12 weeks of lectures, 1 week lecture-free, and 2 weeks of examinations.
