Police arrest female students for Allegedly Assaulting a Teacher
Two female Adesuwa Secondary School, Benin, students have been arrested by the Edo State Police Command for allegedly attacking a teacher.
The unnamed students were said to have assaulted the female teacher after she disciplined some students during an English Language class.
In a statement released in Benin on November 25, 2022, SP Chidi Nwabuzor, who is the spokesman for the Edo state police command, said that the arrest was true. Nwabuzor said that a preliminary investigation showed that the students who were arrested were the most likely ones to have caused the trouble at the all-girls school on Thursday.
He also said that the CP had told the Divisional Police Officer of the Aduwawa Division to send the case file to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Benin when the preliminary investigation was done so that it could be looked into further.
