Pete Edochie was born on March 7, 1947. He grew up in the Northern part of Nigeria, particularly Zaria, Kaduna State. In Kaduna, he obtained elementary education from St. Patrick Primary School and St. James Primary School, both in Zaria. For his secondary education, he attended St. John’s College where he obtained his O(Ordinary) Level Certificates. After returning to Nigeria in 1967 with a Bachelor’s degree from the School of Journalism and Television in England, Pete Edochie was hired by a media broadcasting business. Pete Edochie started acting and starring in the 1987 television series adaption of Things Fall Apart, a widely acclaimed book by Chinua Achebe.
