BBNaija News Plus: Why I regret participating in reality show- Angel Smith

Former Big Brother Naija housemate, Angel Smith has now come out to reveal that she regrets participating in the just-concluded BBnaija season 7 ‘shine ya eyes’ show.

She made this admission in a recent interview with media personality, Taymesan expressing her regret.

In her words:

“I think I am the most misunderstood, most times I come online to have fun without even knowing what is going on on Twitter but people think I am trolling one housemate or another.

“Sometimes it has to do with the fans, sometimes the trolling gets too much. There are days where you are grateful and there are days when you are angry at God. It’s a mixture everything,” she said.

Reality TV star, Queen Mercy Atang has continued to narrate her big brother Naija’s season 7 show experience.

Writing about her life months after the BBNaija show, Queen admitted that the show got her depressed because of constant criticism from the fans on social media.

Queen Mercy wrote:

“COMING OUT OF THE HOUSE. THE LOVE WAS SO OVERWHELMING, I GUESS MAYBE BECAUSE I DIDN’T GET TO HANDLE MY ACCOUNT. WHEN I FINALLY DID. WAWU

THE FIRST NEW WORD I LEARNT FROM THE INTERNET WAS QUEEN ZUWANIKE. AH AH, WHAT’S THE MEANING OF ZUWANIKE. I WENT TO GOOGLE. I’M SURE Y’ALL KNOW THE MEANING. ANYWAYS I DIDN’T PAY MUCH ATTENTION AND I TRIED TO IGNORE IT. BUT THEN THE DRAGGING AND NAME-CALLING WERE A LOT I CAN RECALL THEN I USE TO CRY WHILE READING COMMENTS. SOMETIMES I COULDN’T BREATHE.

THANK GOD FOR FAMILY, AND SOME GENUINE FRIENDS

DEAR FANS TAKE IT EASY ON THE HOUSEMATES.
DON’T BE SO QUICK TO JUDGE. DON’T BE SO QUICK TO CONCLUDE. SOME OF YOU ARE SO QUICK TO READING MEANING TO LITTLE THINGS.
STOP INSTIGATING THINGS. AND MAKING HOUSEMATES QUARREL AMONGST THEMSELVES.

DEAR FANS WE LOVE YOU AND YOU’RE A BIG PART OF OUR JOURNEY. BE POSITIVE AT ALL TIMES. REMEMBER FOR YOU IT’S AN ENTERTAINMENT SHOW, YOU’RE HAVING FUN, GISTING WITH YOUR FRIENDS AND IT IS A TOPIC OF DISCUSSION. YOU ARGUE, YOU LAUGH, YOU PICK UP YOUR PHONE AND YOU DROP A NEGATIVE COMMENT.

FOR US THIS IS OUR REALITY, OUR LIFE. SOME OF US HAVE THE ABILITY TO IGNORE WHATEVER NARRATIVE THE VIEWERS COME UP WITH, SOME OF US CAN’T STAND IT. ESPECIALLY WHEN IT ISN’T TRUE.

SOME OF YOU DROP COMMENTS NOT MINDING OR THINKING ABOUT THE EFFECT IT HAS ON THE HOUSEMATES. SOMETIMES I CHECK OUT THE ACCOUNTS THESE COMMENTS ARE COMING FROM, SURPRISINGLY IT’S ALWAYS FROM THE ELDERLY ONES

DEAR HOUSEMATES, Y’ALL ARE DOING AMAZING. I LOVE AND APPRECIATE Y’ALL AND I’M THANKFUL OUR PATHS CROSSED ON THIS JOURNEY.

WISHING Y’ALL NOTHING BUT LOVE  AND SUCCESS IN ALL YOUR ENDEAVORS. SEE Y’ALL AT THE TOP.

THE END.”

Fingers are now crossed as we await the next season of this classic contest. Weeks from now, the Big Brother Naija will be up and running.
