ABU Academic Calendar for 2021/2022 Session | REVISED
Ahmadu Bello University revised academic calendar for the 2021/2022 academic session has been published. The academic calendar has some changes due to the 2023 General Election.
This is to notify the entire students and staffs of the Ahmadu Bello University that after the 520th senate (regular) meeting held on Thursday the 23rd of March 2023 has announced the release of its modified academic calendar for the 2021/2022 academic session, as a result of the 4 weeks break of the 2023 General Election. The academic calendar has dates of lectures, breaks exams and the Add/ Drop period.
ABU Calendar for Continuation of First Semester
- Lectures (7 weeks): The first semester will resume with lectures on Tuesday, 3rd January, 2023, and continue until Tuesday, 21st February, 2023.
- Election Break (4 weeks): Following the lecture period, there will be a 4-week break from Wednesday, 22nd February, 2023, to Tuesday, 21st March, 2023, for the 2023 general elections.
- Lectures (3 weeks): Lectures will resume on Monday, 20th March, 2023, and continue until Thursday, 6th April, 2023.
- Easter Break (4 days): There will be a short Easter break from Friday, 7th April, 2023, to Monday, 10th April, 2023.
- Lectures (1 week): Lectures will continue from Tuesday, 11th April, 2023, to Wednesday, 19th April, 2023.
- Eid-El Fitr Break (5 days): Students will have a break for the Eid-El Fitr holiday from Thursday, 20th April, 2023, to Monday, 24th April, 2023.
- Examinations (3 weeks): First-semester examinations will take place from Tuesday, 25th April, 2023, to Saturday, 13th May, 2023. Note that examinations for 100 Level and postgraduate courses will commence on Monday, 15th May, 2023.
- End of First Semester Break (2 weeks): Following the examinations, students will have a 2-week break from Monday, 15th May, 2023, to Saturday, 27th May, 2023.
ABU Second Semester Calendar
- Lectures (4 weeks): The second semester will begin with lectures on Monday, 29th May, 2023, and continue until Saturday, 24th June, 2023.
- Eid-El Kabir/Mid-Semester Break (1 week): There will be a one-week break for Eid-El Kabir and the mid-semester break from Monday, 26th June, 2023, to Saturday, 1st July, 2023.
- Lectures (8 weeks): Lectures will resume on Monday, 3rd July, 2023, and continue until Saturday, 26th August, 2023.
- Examinations (3 weeks): Second-semester examinations will take place from Monday, 28th August, 2023, to Saturday, 16th September, 2023.
- The Add/Drop period for the second semester will be from Monday, 19th June, 2023, to Saturday, 24th June, 2023.
