IBBU Lapai’s 4th Combined Convocation Ceremony
Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University (IBBU) Lapai, 4th Combined Convocation ceremony is scheduled to take place on Saturday, 20th May, 2023. The institution will be celebrating it academic excellence all the throughout the past years, they will also be an Insight lectures and Degree and Award winning.
The Vice-Chancellor of the Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida Uinversity (IBBU), Lapai, Prof. Abu Kasim Adamu, on behalf of the Council, Senate, Staffs and Students of the institution is glad to announce and also invite the general public, Families, Friends and well wishers to come and partake in the celebration of the institution 4th Combined Convocation Ceremony which is scheduled to hold on Saturday, 20th May, 2023, at the Convocation Arena, Main campus. All are welcomed to partake in the occasion which is set to honour students hard work and commitment to their studies all throughout their academic journey in the institution.
An Unmissable Line-Up of Events
The convocation schedule has been meticulously designed to create an engaging and enlightening experience for all attendees:
- Vice Chancellor’s Convocation Press Briefing:
Kickstarting our convocation week, Professor Abu Kasim Adamu will address the press and the public. The briefing will be held at the University Guest House, Minna, on Tuesday, 16th May, 2023. - Convocation Lecture:
This year’s thought-provoking lecture topic is “Building Bridge Between Community Elites, Youth, University, and Challenges for Development in the 21st Century”. We are honoured to have Professor Ahmed Sheikh Abdullah from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, as our distinguished guest lecturer. The lecture will be held at the Auditorium, Main Campus, Lapai, on Friday, 19th May, 2023, at 2:30 p.m. - Conferment of Degrees & Award of Prizes:
This is the culmination of our students’ academic journey where they will be rewarded for their dedication and perseverance. This will take place at the Convocation Arena on Saturday, 20th May, 2023, starting at 10:00 a.m.
Vital Information for Graduands
Our esteemed graduands are advised to visit the University portal (https://portals.ibbu.edu.ng/epinsys/) to generate a transaction ID for all necessary payments. The breakdown of the required fees is as follows:
For First Degree Graduands:
- Order of Proceedings: N2, 000.00
- Academic Scroll: N1,500.00
- Academic Gown: N2,000.00
- Certificate: N3, 500.00
- Total: N9, 000.00
For Masters/PGD Graduands:
- Order of Proceedings: N2, 000.00
- Academic Scroll: N2, 000.00
- Academic Gown: N4, 000.00
- Certificate: N5, 000.00
- Alumni Fee: N5, 000.00
- Total: N18, 000.00
To ensure a smooth process, we remind all graduands that physical presence at the ceremony is mandatory to receive their certificates and prizes. Additionally, there are essential documents and evidence of payment to be presented for certificate collection after the ceremony.
All necessary items such as Invitation Cards, Academic Gowns, and Order of Proceedings can be collected from respective Faculty Officers and the Secretary Postgraduate School from Monday, 15th May, 2023, to Friday, 19th May, 2023. Please note that all academic gowns must be returned by Monday, 22nd May, 2023, to avoid a surcharge of N1,000 per day for late returns.
Security Measures
We prioritize the safety of our guests and graduands. Therefore, luggage and handbags will not be permitted in the Convocation Venue. Vehicles will be checked at the main gate, and we ask everyone to comply with the parking guidelines and spaces provided. Our security personnel will direct all vehicles to designated parking lots. Please note that parking and hawking near the Convocation Arena are strictly prohibited.
Please arrive early, as graduands will not be allowed into the Convocation Arena after 9:30 a.m.
